C.A.R.E.
C.A.R.E (Children Accepting Responsibility for the Earth) is the name of the BES recycling club.
Two-three students from each fourth grade classroom are part of the recycling club. The students have the responsibility of checking the paper, magazine, cardboard, plastic, and can recycling containers in the teachers’ work room, nurse’s office, main office, as well as some classrooms. They take the containers and empty them into the recycling bins outside. These bins are then picked up by the Southeastern Indiana Solid Waste District. Last year the CARE club honored Earth Day by picking up trash and weeding around the school.
